Our Story

It all began as a big dream of a ranch with happy horses. Then came long years of paperwork and the construction of the main building, stables, and gradually, the dream started turning into reality.

Over the years, the purpose of our ranch evolved. At first, it was just a summer retreat with two horses, but as more horses arrived, so did new owners and friends. We built more facilities for the horses and paddocks, and later, amenities for our guests. We started organizing summer camps filled with happy children, team-building events for prestigious companies, and self-development programs with horses for entrepreneurs… It was beautiful, but an intense period, and such a pace is hard to sustain. As the saying goes, “stop at the peak.”

At that time, our foals matured, and the horses we had purchased were ready for a sporting career, fulfilling another of our dreams. We trained and prepared our horses for endurance competitions, where, together with their riders, they covered 120 km in a single day. It’s a demanding sport where even a small oversight can mean failure. I can’t help but boast that our horses have often stood on the winner’s podium in major international competitions, and three times we even competed at the World Championships.

Like many, our plans were disrupted by the pandemic and its aftermath. We were developing guest accommodations on the ranch and planning to compete in Dubai and at the European Championships, but this dream didn’t come true. We opened our first family apartment, and the season exceeded our expectations. The next year, we added another apartment for couples.

A major change came in the summer of 2021, when Zuzana suffered a serious training injury. The doctors’ prognosis was not favorable, and everything changed overnight. She faced one of the hardest decisions of her life: to end her endurance riding career and find new homes for the horses. She reflects on that time:

“My husband always said, ‘If you love something, you must also be willing to let it go for its own good.’ We knew our horses had potential and could bring joy to others for many years. It was a challenging period filled with tears and pain—not just physical. After my surgery and long treatment, only my husband and son, along with his partner Viktória, were there to care for me and the ranch. At that time, Viky expressed her dream of returning to western riding and getting her own horse. That gave me hope that the ranch wouldn’t be without horses or purpose. I helped her buy her first mare, and our new journey began. Doctors said I might never lift my left arm again, but my will and desire to ride again were stronger. We purchased American Quarter Horse and Paint Horse foals to breed, compete across Europe, and build a herd of colorful, high-quality horses—and that dream is gradually coming true. Today, we own a small herd of young mares and two stallions, which we plan to develop into successful sires. Two mares already represent us successfully in competitions and win regularly.”

What are our new plans? In spring 2023, we fully renovated a romantic apartment, added a luxury hot tub, and planted beautiful flower beds throughout the ranch. We look forward to new experiences and friendships on our journey toward our dreams.

In summer 2024, we expanded our accommodations with a tiny house we named GARDEN HOUSE. This romantic cabin, with a large sunny terrace and a window by the bed framing the most beautiful mountain views, was instantly loved by our guests. In the mornings, you wake to the bells of sheep from the neighboring pasture, the silence of nature, and birdsong.

Most recently, we added a legendary Praga V3S, renovated as a cozy camper. It now has the most beautiful spot on the ranch, in a paddock with horses under the shade of a large oak tree, offering endless views and magical tranquility.

What can we say in conclusion? This place is unique to us, and everything we’ve created here is infused with heart and immense love. Even after all these years, the atmosphere and views of this ranch never cease to amaze us.
